October 12th update-

Masks Are Still Required. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention emphasized that its new masking recommendations for people fully vaccinated against COVID-19 does not apply to health care settings. “This means that staff, patients, and visitors should continue to wear masks as recommended in all healthcare facilities.” We have masks available at all times. Thank you for your patience.

MAY 20TH UPDATE-

In accordance with CDC guideline for healthcare facilities, the office will continue to require facial coverings independent of changes in state mandates. Hand sanitation will continue to be in effect at the time of check-in indefinitely.

Spare masks in individually wrapped bags are always available by the back table, in the lobby, and in the changing partitions.

We will keep you updated on changes and covert policies as health agencies inform us about them.

May 18th Update-

The mask mandate has been lifted in our state but we are still requiring masks to be worn in our office by staff and patients. Thank you for continuing to wear your mask and for your patience.

January 19th Update-

We are heading into a couple of months of possible, if not likely increased rates of COVID infections and community transmission associated with several factors: the arrival of a more transmissible viral variant, more time spent indoors, and public space reopening. To that effect, we need to remind all of our patients to remain vigilant while at the office and observe the key components of the Body Works Clinic COVID safety protocol:

  • nose/mouth masking

  • hand sanitation

  • limiting your time in the waiting areas. Please remember to do as much administrative transactions with the staff ahead of your visit and limit all possible guests and drivers in the common lobby unless you are accompanied by a minor child or need assistance with your appointment.

  • We are committed to do our part to keep everyone safe and ask you for the same in return.

11/21/2020 UPDATE-

scheduling.

·        REMOVE ANY OUTERWEAR and leave them in the coat rack area.

·        PLEASE GRAB A BAG and place any loose items from your pockets inside it.  You may take this back to the room with you.

·        WASH YOUR HANDS OR USE HAND SANITIZER.

·        TAKE YOUR TEMPERATURE AT THE FRONT DESK.

5/18/2020 Update

  • The Office is back on normal hours, except for some of the changes associated with the Memorial Day weekend.

  • The existing infection prevention measures remain in place.

  • The use of facial coverings or masks is encouraged.

  • Patient presenting with non-infectious aerosol symptoms (coughing, sneezing, runny nose, this is peak spring allergy season after all) are required to use a facial covering while at the office. We have a limited supply of disposable surgical masks to hand out as as well as cloth masks that have been treated with bleach and laundered.

  • We continue to use quaternary ammonium salt cleaners which have a 2 minute COVID contact kill time and much less gassing off than bleach alternatives.

4/22 Update-

  • Starting April 27th, the office is increasing open hours again with normal hours scheduled for the week of May 4th. We will have a late start on Mon-Weds April 27-29th yet at 10 am, and our Friday summer hours from 7:30 am - 5 pm start on Friday May 1st

  • Loose items such as keys, phones and wallets need to be stored away in your coat pockets before proceeding to the check in /sanitizing. If you do not have a purse or coat to store them please use the ziploc bags available at the counter.

  • We have added a self -administered, no contact fever check at the front desk. After storing away outerwear and loose belongings please proceed to the front desk and the staff will direct you on the use of the device.

  • Bleach solution remains the mainstay of the sanitization of all patient contact surfaces, however we are looking into EPA COVID approved alternative cleaners using quat ammonium, that have a lesser gassing off effect for the sake of everyones lungs. We plan on transitioning as soon as the products become available again.

3/28 Update-

  • According to Governor Walz’s declaration going into effect on Friday 3/27/2020, CHIROPRACTIC SERVICES ARE CONSIDERED ESSENTIAL SERVICES that will continue to be provided, albeit with some limitations, for the duration of the stay at home order through April 10th . https://mn.gov/deed/assets/critical-worker-definitions-ACC_tcm1045-425195.pdf

  • Patients should follow the CDC guidelines about who is at higher risk of complications from COVID and reschedule their appointments after April 10th if applicable.

  • There is no indication that law enforcement will check on people moving about to and from essential services, however as a precautionary measure we advise patients to keep their appointment text reminders handy while traveling.

  • For pickup of SUPPLEMENTS, TEST KITS OR OTHER SUPPLIES , please call the staff and complete the order ahead of time. Those orders will be left on the table by the BACK ENTRANCE (handicap access) in a brown paper back that will have your first name and initial of your last name.

  • Our office hours will be scaled back for the next two weeks in order to reduce traffic and allow extra sanitizing measures outside of patient care hours. If you have a CONFIRMED APPOINTMENT and have not been contacted to change it you can assume that your appointment is proceeding as scheduled.

  • Office staff is still available every patient care day to take and return phone calls. However be aware that some cellular networks are crashing periodically under heavy traffic and you may not be able to get through. As an alternate contact measure you can email bwcliniccf@gmail.com. Dr. Demel may be reached at (612)385-2271 for EMERGENCY questions only.

  • We have implemented some new stringent infection prevention measures during the foreseeable future:

    • Patients with a FEVER, COUGH, or SNEEZING will not be seen until they have been symptom free for three days.

    • Upon entering the premise patients should remove OUTERWEAR and put away all ELECTRONIC DEVICES and store them in the waiting area coat rack. If patients need to take a bag or purse into the treatment area, leave them on the floor only, not on any tables or chairs.

    • Before proceeding into any area of the office patients must either WASH THEIR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER OR USE HAND SANITIZER.

    • Check in with the front desk staff and remember to maintain a SAFE DISTANCE from administrative staff and other patients in the waiting room.

    • In order to LIMIT THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN THE WAITING ROOM AT ONE TIME only the patient attending the appointment should enter the premises. Drivers and passengers traveling with you should remain in the vehicle unless they need to attend the appointment with you (young children, care attendants).

    • NO FOOD OR DRINKS allowed on the premises. Please discard your CHEWING GUM when you enter our facility.

    • We are not able to handle CASH CURRENCY at this point. The credit card terminal has been moved so that you can insert and remove your cards without staff involvement.

    • If you have an allergic reaction to BLEACH CLEANER, please be aware that the office and all treatment areas that come in contact with patients are wiped with a bleach solution between patients.

    • Patients will be treated with PROTECTIVE GLOVES and staff is wearing surgical MASKS, however we are not able to provide masks to patients due to supply shortages.
